Recently, my friend Lori Sandman and I found ourselves at Mama Foo Foo in Daytona Beach, a delightful mix of craft cocktails and an atmosphere that whispers “stay awhile.” It’s a trendy spot that embraces both locals and tourists, and it doesn’t disappoint. We kicked off our catch-up session with a few drinks. Between the creative cocktails and a menu boasting tapas and seafood, we could hardly keep our focus on our conversation—there were too many delicious distractions. We warmed up the night with two standout martinis: Lori sipped on the Espresso Martini, a rich and smooth blend that set the evening's tone, while I savored the French Martini, fruity and whimsical. Each cocktail was beautifully crafted—perfect for Instagram, and even more enjoyable in real life.

Mama Foo Foo's menu delivers more than just cocktails. We started with the Burrata & Fig Crostini—a delicate, creamy delight—a great match for conversation and clinking glasses. Then came the Shrimp and Grits, reimagined with a modern twist, and Lori’s fan-favorite Crispy Wings (available in island spicy or honey-soy versions) disappeared fast. On the small plates list, Saffron Arancini, Coconut Cauliflower, and Buffalo Fried Deviled Eggs are highly recommended if you're ordering tapas.
