So, here’s the scoop on our Father’s Day and birthday extravaganza at Little Palm Island. After arriving at the reception area, we were handed water like it was the elixir of life and ushered onto a charming little wooden boat. As we cruised over to the island, I couldn’t help but marvel at how they manage to turn a dinner into a nautical adventure. The scenery was stunning, the food was divine, and the company was top-notch—definitely not your average meal! Freshly caught Florida lobster, grilled fish tacos, and desserts that could make you weep were just a few highlights. Little Palm Island really knows how to deliver an experience that leaves you smiling—partly from the food and partly from the delightful absurdity of dining on a private island.

An Unforgettable Father’s Day Celebration
For Father’s Day (and Captain Jeff’s birthday), I wanted to treat him to something truly special. Nestled just off Marathon, Florida, Little Palm Island delivers an intimate, luxury escape you won’t soon forget. From the moment you arrive, the island sets the stage for a flawless evening.
Arrival by Boat
After checking in at the reception hut on the mainland, we were offered chilled water and escorted to a charming wooden launch. The five-minute boat ride across azure waters built anticipation with every gentle wave. As the island’s thatched roofs came into view, we knew we were in for something extraordinary.
The Dining Experience
Outdoor Elegance
The restaurant—often called the Islander Grill—is perched at water’s edge. Dining tables sit beneath swaying palms and open skies, offering unobstructed ocean views. The warm glow of tiki torches and lanterns added a soft, romantic light as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Menu Highlights
At Little Palm Island, the menu celebrates the freshest local ingredients:
Florida Lobster: Butter-poached and served with citrus-drizzled heirloom tomatoes.
Grilled Fish Tacos: Snapper or mahi mahi, topped with mango salsa and crisp slaw.
Steak Selections: Filet mignon or New York strip, paired with truffle mashed potatoes.
Vegetarian Risotto: Creamy, seasonal vegetable medley finished with Parmesan.
Tropical Appetizers: Plantain chips with avocado crema; conch fritters with lime aioli.
Each course was masterfully paired with wines from a carefully curated list—think crisp Sauvignon Blancs and bold Cabernet Sauvignons—ensuring every bite had its perfect complement.
Decadent Desserts
We couldn’t resist the passion fruit panna cotta or the house-made key lime pie. Both desserts were balanced, sweet and tart, rounding out our meal with a burst of tropical flavor.
